Further signs that America is becoming the land of the intolerant & ignorant. When the Education Department sent out their request for proposals for new educational shows they requested: "Diversity will be incorporated into the fabric of the series to help children understand and respect differences and learn to live in a multicultural society. The series will avoid stereotypical images of all kinds and show modern multi-ethnic/lingual/cultural families and children." I guess what they forgot was the part that said, "except for gay people". The Education Department doesn't want this episode shown because it may be upsetting to certain portions of the community (i.e. the religious right). When will the Christian community take to heart Jesus' teaching when he said "above all else, love one another" and let people live their lives in their own way? Tolerance doesn't mean acceptance. It doesn't mean that you have to believe the things others may believe, it means that you must understand that others have differing and valid viewpoints that are not your own. It is not for people to judge, that job is for God.
